Personally, I feel that it is not always appropriate or safe to love everyone all the time. I believe that there is time and place for love and that love should stay there. In love, I think “safety first” would be the best motto to stick with, and a diet of love in moderation is best, with the noted exception of giving and receiving.
In matters of the heart, each of us has the right to tread lightly, go easy, stop, and weigh the pros and cons before giving our hearts away. It is not necessary or even advisable to give our hearts away every day. There are those of us who simply choose to keep our circle of love small and intimate and who still lead full, happy, and productive lives. In matters of love, there is time for safety and a time for risk, and each of us has to figure out for ourselves what time it is.
Many of us think this way about love – “if we love, we use it up and then it's gone”. I experience love a bit differently now. Having a best friend had opened my heart to the truth about love.
